The mission of the coalition is to maintain the legal status of Jerusalem, until a solution is reached where Jerusalem becomes the capital of the future Palestinian State.

The Coalition is currently actively involved in a number of lobbying and advocacy campaigns regarding Jerusalem.
All campaigns aim at:

- Exposing Israel’s illegal policies in Jerusalem, namely that of ethnically cleansing Jerusalem of its Palestinian population.
- Mobilizing public opinion against these policies exerting pressure on the political decision makers.
- Formulating a solidified political position opposing Israel’s policies.
- Holding Israel accountable by imposing punitive measures in the form of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions.
- Reversing the geographic and demographic damage incurred by Israel in Jerusalem.
- Achieving the full national Palestinian rights in Jerusalem.

Among various matters concerning Jerusalem, the coalition is currently working on the following campaigns to stop:

- The eviction of Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
- The demolition of Palestinian homes including in Silwan, Ras El Amoud and other areas.
- The confiscation of Palestinian land and the construction of Jewish Colonies
including the area known as E1.
- The construction of the light train on Palestinian land.
- The revocation of Palestinian residency rights in Jerusalem.
